The ALSP Highline mobile test unit is used to determine the quality of the melt based on the measurement of the density index, and the thermal analysis with regard to grain refinement (GF) and modification (M).

Information on individual processes:

The ALSP Highline which has the added advantage of a crucible pre-heating chamber, is designed to maximize the convenience of the user. The balance is mounted on a raised vibration-proof steel plate. A fold-out cooling-water vessel for the density samples and a special shelf for the pouring ladle permit an extremely efficient work-flow. The stand for the Thermal Analysis fixed to the sturdy aluminium working surface. The unit's sub-frame also has two large storage compartments, one of which has a locking door. The smooth-running and heat-proof wheels make the ALSP highline a flexible and versatile aid at the casting station or furnace.

Special features:

  • Flexible use at different casting stations or furnaces
  • Convenient and efficient working
  • Vessel for cooling density samples provided
  • Shelf and storage space
  • Process reliability through fully electronic control:
  • - fully automatic control of vacuum to 80 mbar
    - leakage indicator
    - low voltage indicator
    - cycle counter
    - thermocouple-fracture monitoring
  • Fewer incorrect readings and greater accuracy of measurement through use of crucible pre-heating chamber
  • Exact calculation of density to four decimal places (0,0000 g/cm³)
  • High accuracy of measurement and low cost per measurement thanks to re-usable components (crucible and thermocouple
  • The parameters of the Thermal Analysis TA 110 can be saved on the special mk USB stick
  • Transmission of measurement data (serial, internal network or with mk USB stick) possible to the PC Software provided
  • Capable of 100% calibration
  • CE conformity
  • Tested to DGUV standard

The PC Software supplied permits the following operations:

  • Saving of measurements
  • Use of statistical process control (SPC)
  • Analysis and assessment of data by means of various filters for the density index and thermal analysis results
  • Analysis of individual cooling curves:
  • - zooming to specific curve sections
    - display of cooling speed in form of first derivative
    - graphic superimposition of two curves for comparison purposes
  • Printable reports
  • Results exportable to MS Excel
